mistaken - a letter from you by Danika, literature
Literature
mistaken - a letter from you
lips slightly parted, biting back bitter tears
i'll laugh instead it's better to laugh than cry they say
a cliched line, i'll
take it to heart, something to hang onto,
other than the empty promises you told me,
empty elegance whispered gently, lovingly a
woven spider-web i used to cover myself at night
sweetly dreaming of a contrived fantasy
lined paper smelling faintly of salt
i can easily
visualize the scene
your soft rosy mouth
whispering along as you write
absently licking your lips,
a few unguarded tears fall to the paper
a well meaning confession, though
good intentions pave the way to hell,
a place created just for me
Hesitant Affirmation
A Single light,
Piercing the darkness
Watching it silently,
I whisper,
One day, I will get through this
Gently tapping fingers,
Blank eyes, lost in thought
Unsaid compulsion
Overcritical, overly harsh
Quietly tearing oneself apart
Tell myself,
One day, I will not hurt myself
The gentle taste of agony
And a sweet sardonic smile,
As the world crashes down
Spiraling downward,
Betrayed,
Yet again
Another bitter laugh
With the unsaid words
One day, I will learn to trust again
And then the little bit of light is snatched
Stolen,
Again I am alone
Encased in my own darkness
Lifting my face to the sk
Twilight's passing
A quiet country walk,
Twilight's coming, slowly
A treasured friend I longed to meet again
A simple decision
And I left it all
Leaving unnoticed
A bit nostalgic
A worn path I left behind
Smiling faintly at the bittersweet memories
Letting myself be drawn into these ethereal things
Succinct meaning in the coming morning
Sublime whispers in the evening
Enjoying the feeling of being detached
Floating through bygone times,
Lettered works never written
A far away time, now mind as well be
A century ago, though only a second ago
And the quiet feelings of release,
A bird set free from a cage
Trembling at firs
Twilight's passing
A quiet country walk,
Twilight's coming, slowly
A treasured friend I longed to meet again
A simple decision
And I left it all
Leaving unnoticed

o_o I haven't been here in ages. Too busy and lacking inspiration, or even will to do anything artistic.
But I have missed all of you, and I'm trying to comment as much as I can to make up for everything I missed

Well, I'm attempting to come back to DA. I've been busy, and just endured one of the toughest weeks in my life.
I've not been able to draw much - haven't drawn anything good, though my parentals are talking of getting a scanner for Christmas - a gift for the whole family.
I've written quite a bit of poetry, though. It seems it takes anguish to bring the poetry out.
Well, for me anyways.
I guess I could post some of that later.
And I apologize for not posting on works - I let it go too far and it got over 700+ messages. I kept trying to go
